Continuing with Principle #5 from Jack Canfield’s “The Success Principles” entitled “Believe in Yourself”, I set the intention today to ponder the question: Do I have confidence in my abilities? Yes and No. In some areas I’m quite confident, in others I am lacking. This begs the question: what do I have to do to remove the “lacking”?
From PsychologyDictionary they define self-confidence as: “1. Our self-assurance in trusting our abilities, capacities and judgements. 2. the belief that we can meet the demands of a task.” When stated like this it seems so simple and yet something inside me makes me think that I am lacking. “Me” thinks it’s probably just an old “tape” that’s been playing in a loop for decades…I just need to unplug it…or better yet, create a new looping tape: “I can do whatever I set my mind to do. I’ve done it before and I can do it again. ” I’ve also found that setting an intention before embarking on something that requires more confidence does wonders for building up the confidence muscle.
So how about you? Do you have confidence in your abilities? Are there some that you excel in and others that could use more attention? What would it take to raise your confidence level?

Have faith in your abilities!
Without a humble
but reasonable confidence
in your own powers
you cannot be successful
or happy.
