262 – Tree Portal Mandala
I love everything about this gate: the mixed use of metal and wood, the mandala window, the tree with is filigree roots and branches, and it’s placement within the stone wall. The whole thing feels enchanted, that what we are about to experience when we enter will be magical.
261 – In the Shade Mandala
Sarah_Z, who maintains the Pieces of My Life site, posted this delightful photo of the Umbrella Pathway in the Dubai Miracle Garden in her blog post: Miracle Garden 2015.
257 – Cathedral de Barcelona Mandala
This beautiful mandala resides on the facade of the Cathedral Basilica of Barcelona probably the most renowned “work in progress” on the planet. Pamela Unplugged visited Barcelona in 2013 and captured this great shot of the mandala above the main entrance to the cathedral. Actually her original photo captured the whole facade and because of the photo’s size, I could zero in on the mandala without loosing the quality of the image.
252 – Queen Elizabeth Mandala
Yesterday, Queen Elizabeth became the UK’s longest reigning monarch in its history…63 years and seven months. One of the many things she’s known for is her hats…she always wears them and most of them are round…mandalas; and she wears them well.
250 – The Louvre Mandalas
American photographer, Virginia Jones, shot this image of the archways leading into the Cour Carrée which is part of The Louvre Palace complex in Paris, France. Look at these splendid mandalas adorning the insides of these arches.
248 – Tinay Mandala
Pacific Northwest basket weaver extraordinaire Peeta Tinay created this gorgeous basket made with round reeds. If I were in the presence of this basket, I would want to touch it, pick it up, and hold. It feels like an ancestral thing for me.
