My progress for today:

1 – we start here
2 – remove from paper backing and temporarily secure it to wood panel
3 – complete the doodle lines on the wood panel
4 – side view of the added doodle lines on the wood panel
So this week I’m transitioning “Bohemian Sunset” from a round 4″ color pencil mandala framed behind glass to a 7″x7″ expanded mandala painting on a wood panel, out in full view.
First I unframed it and released it from its bondage. Then temporarily adhered it to a gessoed wood panel. Once set, I decided to expand the existing doodle lines outward over the whole panel, front and sides. I also included a couple extra doodle lines just for the fun of it.
The next step will be to start painting the different sections and seeing where that goes.
Read about the “Behomian Sunset” as this week’s Mandala of the Week.
About the Mandalas of the Day:
I post a variety of in-progress art for that day which can include mandalas from the Mandala of the Week, the Mandala of the Month, the Mandala of the Year, or the Mandala Meditation Stones.
Happy Coloring!
joyfully, Maureen

My Mission: connecting with our Inner Light in delightful, inspiring ways
For me, creating mandalas is more than just coloring pretty patterns in a circle. I do it because my spiritual evolution and creativity require it of me. My mandala designs come about within an active meditative state, connected with my higher self, my spiritual guides and nature spirits.
Together, we bring into form, mandala art the allows me to re-connect with my own inner peace and joy, letting me explore and expand my own creative spirit to however far and in whatever direction I want to take it.
As part of my own spiritual journey, I encourage, and hopefully inspire, others to explore their own creativity, to help them re-connect with their own inner peace and joy. As a means to that end, I make all of my mandalas available for people to color. Why should I have all the fun?
