198 – Crow Mandala
Artist friend and colleague, Nina Ventra, created this very powerful animal spirit mosaic sculpture, “Crow Mandala”, as part of her mandala series. I love the heavy earthiness of this piece along with bold use of colors and patterns, upon patterns. It looks like something you would find exploring Aztec or Mayan ruins.
197 – Tyre Chair Mandala
How fun is this! Rocky Road Backpackers of South Africa posted this photo with their blog post promoting a friend’s project to build these beautiful chairs from old tires.
196 – Pluto’s Heart Mandala
Yesterday an amazing thing happened…and it was 10 years and three-billion-miles in the making! NASA’s New Horizons did it’s closest flyby past the last known planet in our solar system: Pluto. 195 – Sisters Mandala
My dear colouring friend, Michelle, is at it again with colouring mandalas. This time it’s the “Sisters” mandala from my Love and Light mandala coloring book. I always find her colourings to the delightful and insightful…so much so that I’ve showcased her colourings in previous MotD posts: 9, 15, 24, 86, 119, 142, 150, 159, 182.
194 – Succulents Mandala
My artist friend, Kris Mitchell, creates amazing almost-mystical landscape paintings in watercolors, color pencils, and mixed media. She also loves to photograph flowers and post them on facebook.
192 – Toroidal Vortex Mandala
Today’s MotD comes to us via Dolphins making and playing with bubble rings (toroidal vortices). Torenheksje uploaded this video on youtube.com that was originally filmed and editted by chiajungchi.
